Produced by The Mill and hosted by FACEBOOK, I designed and Directed this Augmented Reality launch for Netflix's first publication - Mark MILLAR's Graphic NOVEL "THE MAGIc ORDER"

 

Devised FOr FACEBOOK's CAMERA EFFECTS, It gave the users a magical and interactive experience once Facebook's Camera captured the cover.  EAGER fans could both explore the new Novel's characters and discover a Call to Action, giving them the inside chance at rewards and previews of the next issue.

 

OUTSIDE developing the concept I also illustrated the QR Prompt inside issue ONE, as well as executing the card designs featuring characters from the Comic.

Produced AT REELFX  and again partnering with lionsgate, this time connecting them with qualcomm I designed and directed the "Power rangers : zords rising experience". It's a 6-minute intro to THe film'S power rangers, the zords, alpha 5 and the first look at bryan cranston as zordon.

from a technical standpoint this was a revolutionary project that offered, for the first time ever, six degrees of freedom untethered, completely through mobile. It was qualcomm's newest snapdragon chip that allowed this to happen.

BElow is the Journey in 360 movie form, albeit in three degrees of freedom.

produced at the MIll, these were part of the launch of the first camera effects released by instagram, announced by Mark Zuckerberg at f8.

Designed to be fun and quick to elicit the spontaneity of real-world Dunkcam pranks, the user could interactively place and size the backboard in the lens, (with world tracking),  then release the dunker. 

BY tapping the logo on the backboard, the user could swap between an nba and an Wnba player.

"THE HUNGER GAMES – VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE" IS AN IMMERSIVE 360° NARRATIVE EXPLORING KEY MOMENTS THROUGHOUT KATNISS’ JOURNEY, ACROSS ALL FOUR FILMS IN THE SERIES.

BUILT FOR LIONSGATE IN UNREAL 4 AND UTILIZING BOTH CUSTOM-MADE ASSETS AS WELL AS ACTUAL CG ASSETS FROM THE HUNGER GAMES PRODUCTIONS, THE FINAL OUTPUT WAS USED  TO PUBLICIZE THE LAUNCH OF THE SAMSUNG GEAR VR  HEADSET, WITH FURTHER ROLL-OUTS TO THE OCULUS, AND YOUTUBE 360. 

 

I WROTE, DESIGNED, AND DIRECTED THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE, PRODUCED AT REELFX

PARAMOUNT WAS INTERESTED IN A 360 YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK MOVIE TO PROMOTE THE RELEASE OF 'ARRIVAL' ON HD DIGITAL AND BLU-RAY.  IT was to lead OF A TRAILER AND INTO A NEW SEQUENCE IN THE ALIEN SHIP. 

FROM CREATIVE I WROTE, THE SPECTACULAR TEAM AT REELFX REPLICATED THE ALIEN SHIP AND STITCHED TOGETHER AN ENTIRE ALIEN ENCOUNTER SEQUENCE FROM JUST CLIPS IN THE MOVIE.

ReelFX teamed up with _Narrative to create "Twas the flight before Christmas" - a unique virtual reality holiday shopping experience from jcpenny, with live action directed by tom Schiller 

The journey allowed viewers to be transported on a sled to visit the north pole, all  within an immersive 360-degree world.  There they chose to enter one of 6 magical doors to meet santa in his workshop, surrounded by his elves, dancing reindeer, a prankster snowman and a lovelorn yeti.  The VR experience ran 6 minutes and allowed audiences to play along for gift certificates and coupons.

REELFX  TEAMED UP WITH MOMENTUM TO CREATE A VR FREE THROW CHALLENGE FOR THE NBA AND USA MEN'S  OLYMPIC BASKETBALL TEAM.

USING THE SAMSUNG GEAR VR, THE PARTICIPANT DRAMATICALLY ENTERS THE COURT THROUGH THE PLAYER TUNNEL TO A ROARING CROWD AND DIVERTING LIGHT SHOW. AMIDST THIS, THE PARTICIPANT ARRIVES AT THE FOUL LINE AND HAS 24 SECONDS TO SINK AS MANY FREE THROWS AS POSSIBLE. 

AT THE END, THE SHOTS/SCORE IS PRESENTED AND EMAILED, ENCOURAGING FRIENDS TO COMPETE AND BUILDING NEW RELATIONSHIPS FOR VERIZON.

THE IN-STORE CHALLENGE PLAYED IN 1100 VERIZON STORES NATIONWIDE.
